Odd Fellows in Quaker City to Open Grand Lodge Session

In Quaker City Philadelphia on May 16 the grand encampment and grand lodge of the Odd Fellows and Rebekahs of Pennsylvania begin their meeting with the Rebekah degree ceremony. Attendance is expected to be the largest ever, city hall to be lit in honor, and the keys to the city to be presented to grand lodge officials. Receptions, excursions, dances, and drills by military branches will follow through much of next week.

Teen Confesses to Murder to Avoid Marriage in Utah

Alvin Heyton, 14, confessed to killing Mary Stevens, purported sweetheart, last April after meeting her at 5. He said he shot her four times and hid the body in rocks at Garden Hollow to prevent marriage. He claimed he returned home to establish an alibi, doing chores and acting normal to prove he was there.
