Two touring cars and one roadster arrived this morning and were being set up by LC Smith. The machines have been en route long and are undergoing testing with tryout runs. Eight more cars from the same factory will reach Mr. Smith soon.
Yesterday afternoon the thermometer reached the 80 degree mark in the shade as warm weather spread to hills, ice cream parlors, and shaded spots. Crops and trees benefited from the sunny spell signaling summer’s arrival.
The Central Church of Christ board met Sunday and voted to hire evangelists Witsten and Loneman to conduct a February meeting. The evangelistic team has a strong record with six Oregon meetings averaging over 100 conversions each. Ford Ellis leads church efforts to prepare for the event.
