Prospect for Early Traffic Resumption From Pendleton to Portland

Railroad officials report the Oregon Railroad and Navigation line cleared and ready for traffic between Pendleton and Portland. Allen spur washout repaired and Duncap work nearing completion. Two bridges between Bingham Springs and Pendleton require final repairs, with crews due this afternoon. River and mountain streams have receded, reducing danger of further slides, and a Portland train reached Pendleton about 3 pm awaiting clearance for resumed service tomorrow.
