Baker City Council Awards Street Paving Contracts
At an adjourned Baker City council session last night contracts were approved for paving Front Street and storm sewer work, with about thirty blocks of cement sidewalk to be built. Five council members voted for bitulithic pavement at 235 per square yard, while Hassam at 200 plus excavation and Granitor at 266 were also bid options. Jos J. Meitner spoke for Hassam, urging economy and maintenance, asking for delay to review bids. The Observer telegraph news service reports the update.

Curtiss chose Man to Man as an end week bill for his stock company. The Pastime theatre was filled for the opening night with audiences predicting future sellouts.
