La Grande Aug 17 The appointment for pulling the Krattschnitt special train goes to Peter Theisen the oldest main line engineer on the mountain division of the Oregon-California Railroad and Navigation Company He arrived from La Grande to guide the Pilot Rock branch run and the Umatilla to Spokane trip Theisen ranks second in seniority on the division after G W Moon though Moon has not run on the main line for years.

Boy Injured by Accidental Revolver Discharge
Ed Brown about 14 was riding in a spring wagon when a 22 caliber revolver in his pocket exploded injuring his leg. The accident occurred near Fred Warner’s home and the boy was taken to hospital where he remains confined but no serious injury is feared.
