The La Grande sugar factory records 3300 acres of sugar beets, the largest single-season area in the valley. Total expected tonnage reaches 30000 tons, with a projected value of about 300000 dollars, boosting local circulation and prosperity through factory payrolls and beet growth labor. A ninety day campaign will employ nearly 100 workers, while new elevated tracks and beet sheds costing around eight thousand dollars speed handling and storage.
