Timber sale talks spark Oregon Northwest timber deal
W. G. Davie of Coweman Timber Co of Seattle arrived in Pendleton with E. Morgan of the O R and N to inspect 25 timber claims owned by railroad employees near Ukiah. Negotiations for sale to Davie’s company aim to saw timber locally with a new Pendleton mill on the O R and N main line, possibly extending the Pilot Rock branch.

Long Land Contest Nears Completion at Pilot Rock
The Pilot Rock land contest lasting three days nears final testimony. Contestant Joseph Shields faces defendant Thomas D. Waugh with Attorney J T Williamson for Shields and Col James H Raley for Waugh. Land lies about two miles from Pilot Rock and tonight’s testimony may end the case.
