Horace Knapp, a resident of South Te Grands, is believed to have met with an accident in the mountains southwest of La Grande while on a hunting trip with his dog. Relatives and friends, alarmed by the dog's return alone, have organized searches and kept vigil for any trace of him.
James L. Gallagher testified in the third Ford bribery trial in San Francisco describing a deal between prosecutors and supervisors to secure testimony in the graft cases.
