Steamship Mongolia Returns to San Francisco in Honor

The steamship Mongolia bearing Governor General Smith of the Philippines was sighted in the bay and met by local tug committees. Ships in the harbor wore decorations for the Smith party’s return. The party disembarked at 2:30 and proceeded to the palace hotel for a formal reception tomorrow with Bishop Aford from Chicago set to speak.

Bar Barossi Struck by Wave Delays Athens Olympic Team

The Bar Barossi carrying American athletes to Athens was hit by a huge wave injuring Kerrigan the high jumper and injuring several others. Six narrowly escaped being washed overboard and may be unable to compete. Additional injuries include Hillman Mitchell Cohn and Borneman with various hurts.
