A Los Angeles mother who killed her son attempted suicide by gas and was later admitted to the county hospital. Reported as suffering long mental strain she had a prior insanity complaint nine years earlier. News notes her reaction upon hearing of her son's death.
The Southwestern Coal Operators Association met this morning and decided that President Roosevelt's help would aid a settlement of the miners and operators dispute and lead to the return of the workers who had walked out in the southwest.
