Wisconsin Supreme Court rules Paper Co closing not labor dispute
The Wisconsin Supreme Court ruled that the 1971 closing of Flambeau Paper Co in Park Falls was not caused by a bona fide labor dispute, reversing a lower decision and granting no unemployment benefits to about 370 workers. The ruling aligns with state law barring benefits to strikers. A separate item notes a Holstein tour sponsored by La Crosse County Breeders and University Extension Service for 4 H members, with stops in Melrose, Black River Falls, Alma Center, and Humbird.
