Charles Gilbert Gates son of the late John G. Gates died suddenly in Cody Wyoming at the Burlington depot from heart failure while awaiting a train home from a hunting trip. He valued speed and special trains and had just spent millions on gifts and prizes. The funeral plans call for a Plaza Hotel ballroom service followed by a Chicago to New York special train.
