Three volunteer firemen from Holland department were killed when two trucks responding to a brush fire collided near Kaukauna Wisconsin on county trunk KK. The crash also claimed the life of Donald Fassbender 16 who was aboard the other vehicle. The weekend toll included Vivian Hoehn 18 of Milwaukee and other victims in separate incidents.

Minnesota traffic toll rose to 662 in 1963 after a weekend with at least 15 fatalities. Victims included five Iowans in a three car crash near Austin and two Benson residents in a head on crash. Former Sen Tom Connally Dies at 86 in Washington
Former United States Senator Tom Connally of Texas died at his home in Washington from pneumonia at age 86. A longtime chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, he served 24 years in the Senate and helped shape postwar diplomacy including support for the United Nations Charter. He was a World War I veteran and later promoted Roosevelts world peace vision. He is survived by his widow Louise, a son Ben, a sister, and other relatives. burial will be in Marlin, Texas.

Alma Center Youth Dies Accidentally
Alma Center Wisconsin 18 year old Terry Ronkowski was found dead in his car from carbon monoxide poisoning in the Vernon Duxbury yard. Foster father Duxbury found him at 8 55 a m with the ignition on and muffler exhaust pipe in need of repair. Ronkowski worked the night shift at Norplex Furnac tors in Black River Falls. The coroner ruled the death accidental saying he had likely driven home with windows up and was overcome by fumes after a cold night. The body was taken to Jensen Funeral Home in Hixon with arrangements pending.
