EPA Approves Transportation Controls for 22 Metro Areas

The EPA approved plans restricting vehicle use in 22 metro areas to meet 1977 clean air deadlines. Five California regions and Denver face the strictest limits including fuel rationing and vehicle reductions. Congress may grant authority to extend deadlines.

Supermarket Addition Under Way in Prairie du Chien

In Prairie du Chien Wisconsin construction has begun on a 5,000 square foot addition to the Piggly Wiggly Supermarket in Commerce Court. The two story expansion will increase sales space to 21,000 square feet and add 2,000 square feet of office space. Completion is expected by February. Steiner Brothers of Prairie du Chien is the general contractor. The store is part of the Piggly Wiggly Wis Own seven store chain.
