Marshall Seeks Fifty Million for Rivers and Harbors
Brigadier General William L. Marshall, chief of engineers, recommends a $50,000,000 aggregate appropriation for rivers and harbors and fortifications in the coming fiscal year. About $20,000,000 targets existing contracts, $21,000,000 covers general work and surveys, and $2,000,000 for Mississippi River Commission projects. Fortifications total $7,732,233 with major items for Manila defenses and sea walls at Honolulu Pearl Harbor.
