Wisconsin reports say strikers and union pickets blocked entry to Northern Paper Mill in Green Bay. One man injured after a vehicle ran over a picket. Brown County officials sought state troops as Governor Blaine coordinated with local authorities. Mill operations largely halted with around 200 workers at the plant.
Green Bay reports Sheriff Ryat will close Northern Paper Mills at 4 p.m. Tuesday to curb a strike, with state troops unlikely. Governor Blaine vetoes the Statheson prohibition bill as weak and uncertain, attacking the Anti-Saloon League lobby and urging a clearer enforcement law.
