Wisconsin begins the general fish season in the southern zone covering 44 counties tomorrow with muskellunge and black bass on the banned list until later. Northern zone opens May 1 with a different species schedule, while weather and gear interest rise as anglers plan Lake Michigan streams and inland waters.

He aims for broad input from major labor groups and organi zational balance rather than representing business or labor alone. Green offered AFL assistance on an expansive scale.
President Truman urged renewal of the reciprocal trade program without crippling amendments to keep America as world economic leader. The House Ways and Means Committee approved a Republican backed bill to extend the act for one year with an amendment granting Congress veto power if tariff limits are exceeded.
A La Crosse veteran his wife and their four year old daughter living in a sleeping room since August must vacate by Sunday without a shelter plan. Washington reports the House prepared a bill targeting the Communist party to curb its operations and expose members. The measure would bar efforts to set up a foreign controlled totalitarian dictatorship, impose penalties of up to 10 years in prison and $10 000 fines, and require annual registration of the party and its members. Front groups would also register.
In Fond du Lac Wisconsin a plan to form a statewide Democratic party unit was announced. A temporary executive committee will be summoned for the meeting. Robert E Tehan and Jerome Fox stated the Milwau kee delegates instructions to organize liberal elements for the fall campaign.
The cornerstone of the new Asbury Methodist church will be laid Sunday at 4 p.m. at 19th and Redfield streets. Rev. Paul B. White will give the address, with Rev. Halberg assisted by Rev. About 200 striking workers and others forced into the Cudahy Co. packing plant at midnight. The mob smashed windows, released hogs, and took 30 workers as hostages. Adjutant General Walsh pledged a substantial guard force to aid civil authorities while union leaders deny violence and urge jobs protection.
Three Chicago dairies Hawthorn Mellody Dean and Meadowbrook raised milk to 20 cents a quart for store delivery and 22 cents for home delivery. The move boosts the price by a half-cent a quart and follows earlier pricing in the city.
