Oslak Hauge of Brownsville Minnesota died at Lutheran hospital yesterday morning at 6:00 o clock after a lingering illness. He leaves a wife and one son of Brownsville where the remains were shipped for burial. Fessler and Dahl were in charge.
In Flushing on May 10 John F. McIntyre urged acquittal for Captain Peter C. Hains, arguing the man acted under adultery tales and home protection. He recalled the wife’s tears, decried killings of adulterers by law, and pressed jurors to consider the impact on Hains' children as deliberations extend to tomorrow.
Chas. W. Morse must stay in the city jail for at least another week. Influential friends offered unlimited bond but the court postponed the case to May 17.
Col Theodore Roosevelt and party hunted near Machakos ten miles south of Nairobi. Roosevelt fired a single brain shot at a charging bull rhinoceros 14 paces away, the beast dying at the edge of the camp. The encounter marked the party s fourth or fifth big game kill in East Africa.

In La Crosse County circuit court Judge Parrish opened a session with criminal hearings first. Engebretson and Miss Agnes Anderson were arrested in La Crosse Sunday by Undersheriff Geo D Wright on a warrant from Engebretson's wife in Mapleton Minnesota. The couple refused to depart without extradition papers and expected to be brought back today with proper papers.
Dr. E H Townsend a well known local physician was on the St Paul train when he was called to attend a dying man. Townsend is said to be unable to aid the casualty though he was present and available. The event unsettles the community of La Crosse as it unfolds on the journey.
Dr W D Thomas died on a Milwaukee train near Camp Douglas Wis while en route to Milwaukee for Judge Palmer's funeral. The prominent La Crosse Episcopal clergyman suffered a fatal heart event, with Dr E H Townsend of New Lisbon attending and arranging transport of the body back to La Crosse for burial.
