Segelke Kohlhaus Manufacturing buys the Kuhn Sash and Door plant and its merchandise from trustee controlled finances. Cy Snyder longtime head of the State Liquor Dealers' association and local alderman died after months of illness. Clyde Rehfuss son of ex Alder man William Rehfuss was burned when gas exploded at the dry cleaning shop at Eighteenth and Madison. He rolled in sand to smother flames, alerted a doctor, and was taken to St Francis hospital. The blast caused about 200 dollars in damage. the concrete building withstood fire, shop to be repaired in days and business to continue.
In Washington on May 8, Senator Bristow of Kansas led a fight against raising the lead pig tariff under paragraph 189 to two and one eighth cents a pound. He argued the pig lead rate would cost $12.50 per ton while ore conversion costs only $8 to $10. Senator Smoot sparred, claiming Bristow misrepresented testimony before the Ways and Means Committee.

In Oklahoma City last night a gun battle between alleged moonshiners and government officers left Deputy U.S. Marshal A. W. Holden dead. Dad Lee and J. W. Meyers were captured and jailed at Hugo. Authorities plan to renew the manhunt for five moonshiners who escaped Sunday. the two prisoners will be moved to the federal prison at Muskogee to prevent unrest in Hugo.
