Milwaukee Livestock Market closes stead y to strong across cattle calves hogs and lambs. Cattle good to choice steer prices 40.50 to 43.50, calves 56.00 to 90.00, hogs 25 higher and lambs 30.00 to 32.00. Estimated receipts 1 000 cattle 1 000 calves 400 hogs 50 sheep. Chicago egg prices steady. Detroit AMC reports six month earnings 23.6 million after tax 88 cents per share. Net sales 887 million up 33 percent year over year.
Wisconsin cheddar market remained fully steady with demand fair to good and supplies adequate to short. 40 pound blocks and longhorns were adequate to short while barrel styles were generally adequate. American cheese output for the week ending April 26 totaled 36.9 million pounds, up two percent. Wisconsin Swiss market also steady with demand mostly good and supplies short to adequate.
Chicago dairy market shows butter unsettled with wholesale buying prices unchanged. 93 score AA remains unquoted, 92 A quoted, 61.00 to 61.25, 90 B remains unquoted.
South St. Paul market notes show cattle and calves at 25 to 50 higher for slaughter cattle with limited dealer activity, hogs up to 50 higher in strong demand, lambs steady in a lightly tested market, with varied prices for steers heifers cows bulls and feeder lambs. Grain and eggs markets are included with soft red wheat around 2.45 and Wisconsin egg prices at grade A large 52 to 54 cents.
