La Crosse zoning agenda eyes Central site and Gund Home
La Crosse Plan Commission deadlines include zoning recommendations for the old Central site as public use and a Gund Home expansion with a 177 bed addition. Aircraft Parts Manufacturing gets a two month option to buy a two acre site near the Hauser farm and a second site option if city sale occurs within two years. The commission also denies a 418 Gould St multiple dwelling zoning as industrial area precedents.

La Crosse Property Assessments Rise for 1973
Property values in La Crosse for 1973 will be higher than 1972 due to higher labor and material costs for newer homes. Assessor Kenneth N. Roberts says older homes rise with them, and commercial growth adds 8 to 10 million dollars to the tax rolls since May 1, 1972. The city moves to 100 percent market value assessments, with noticed changes contingent on other factors and a potential tax rate reduction to offset bills.
