High School Debates On Woman's Suffrage Favor
Artemis Club at the high school held its first debate in the club room on Friday evening. The question was whether woman’s suffrage should be adopted in the United States. Florence Myers and Cora Kempter supported the affirmative. Daisy Gage and Grace Gesell opposed it. The jury, Miss Collins, Miss Wright, and Miss Kinnison, voted two to one for the affirmative. Miss Kinnison acted as critic and offered valuable points. Earlier debates by Lincoln-Douglas and Wendell-Phillips clubs reached similar conclusions against woman’s suffrage.
