No Inquest Over Remains Of Death By Own Action

The first opportunity to hold an inquest in La Crosse county under the new law was not deemed worth while by District Attorney Bosshard, and hence no inquest was held today over the remains of Adolph Freder ick. Under the new law only the district attorney is empowered to order inquests, and the police and coroner are bereft of all power in this regard except when the district attorney deems the circumstances sufficient to warrant an investigation. It is believed every county will save money under this law as old practice often held needless inquests.
