A blaze in the Ladish Co laboratory caused about 500000 in damage to instruments records and the building. No injuries were reported. Chicago police said two missing children linked to the murder of Mollie Hoffman were found safe Saturday night in Melville Saskatchewan. The mother’s body had been found in a truck trailer near Mauston Wisconsin and the father had been seen with a child in Wisconsin and Illinois. A telegram from Canadian police said the children and Hoffman were with his father in Melville and that Hoffman headed toward Vancouver. Youths Seized After Hit-Run Auto Accident
Two youths were captured the same evening after a hit and run in Midway. Gilman A. Aspenson reported his 1940 Studebaker was struck. he injured a leg and the car fled. The same car later stopped at a Winona gas station where the driver and passenger fled on foot and were arrested. Police said the suspects claimed to be soldiers from near Superior and Illinois.
