La Crosse Wisconsin June 14 The statements from Tom Morris declare his intention to seek the Republican nomination for United States senator in 1914. He says the rumor of a gubernatorial run is unfounded and that he wishes to clarify his political plans.
Mr Morris said the morning statement spoke for itself and pledged a fuller discussion later. He noted tentative governors would act according to his option, while not planning active campaigning soon. Morris rose in 1900 as county attorney and led La Follette progressives in Wisconsin politics.
