A 13 year old boy who admitted killing Kenneth Shaw, 24, at Shaw’s Westford farm was ruled a delinquent minor by District Attorney Leo Lownik and Sheriff. He will live at the Wisconsin school for boys in Waukesha until age 21. The youth said he and a brother were sent from Sparta to Shaw’s farm after Shaw’s divorce. He claimed he shot Shaw with a .22 rifle while Shaw slept.

Tar burns youth heating tar on stove
A 16 year old Raymond Steinke of 2003 South 13th street sustained second degree burns to his right leg and hand when a kettle of tar boiled over on a kitchen stove. The tar set fire to the kitchen rear porch and dining room, burning curtains and scorching woodwork and furniture while he was heating tar to put on the roof. He was taken to a doctor by police squad car after the 1 40 p m alarm.
