A major blaze swept Apex eight miles from Raleigh early today, destroying much of the town’s business section. The fire caused one fatal injury and is estimated to have cost about 50000 dollars in damage.
Charles H. Weisse former congressman and U S senate candidate, faced a game law warrant after deputies found 140 trout some under size. A nolle prosequi in Sheboygan led to a ten dollar fine for Weisse and companion James Sweeney according to state investigators involvement.

William A. Crister, a Rensselaer farmer, died at his home eight weeks after being bitten by a stray dog. The bite led to hydrophobia. Local officials reported the death occurred in Rensselaer Indiana on June 13.
