Paliwoda Pleads Not Guilty in Woodshed Killing Case

Shooting Aboard Diamond Jo Packet In Sidney
A morning shooting occurred on the Diamond Jo packet in Sidney as Sam Hill a Black roustabout fired at a fireman after an alleged bunk robbery. The fireman restrained Hill. the bullet hit the ceiling. Hill fled toward Vine Street, hid in a barn, then jumped out a window and was captured by Patrolman Yehle in Burlington yards. He will be held until the boat returns from St. Paul.
