Bids for a transmitter house and tower footings for WHLA, a state owned FM station to be built at Jostad ridge La Crosse county, will be opened in Madison on Friday June 16. Site is at the junction of county trunk highways S and M. The tower will exceed 400 feet in height and operation is planned for the September school season. The station will run 7 am to 11 pm daily with educational programs for preschool through adult.
