Second Try For County Fuel Pact Bids Fails
La Crosse County Highway Department again received no bids for its annual fuel contract, covering about half a million gallons of gasoline and 150000 gallons of diesel. Assistant Highway Commissioner Roland Gullickson said negotiations will begin with Texaco for gasoline and Midland for diesel on a month to month basis if no bids return. Commissioner Orval Smith planned to start talks Friday to secure commitments, with a contingency to negotiate each purchase as needed.
