National Guard Officer Killed Near Sparta
National Guard Capt. Bernard Heim, 34, of Leavenworth Kansas was killed when his car struck a bridge abutment two miles northeast of Sparta Wisconsin on STH 21 at 12 20 a m Friday. Three passengers were hospitalized in Sparta with serious injuries and one may have fallen asleep at the wheel.
