Slaying Suspect Of 2 Caught By N. J. Policemen
Richard Teddy Coleman, 32, charged with shooting his wife and sister in law to death and wounding others, was captured by Newark and Linden area police after kidnapping an 18 year old girl, Mary Kaminski. He admitted little beyond fatigue after hours of questioning. Authorities say he also wounded his brother, a neighbor, and a visitor, and abducted Kaminski as a hostage. The killings occurred after a police guard had left Millie Coleman and Ruby Coleman at the couple’s home. Coleman faced Newark magistrate arraignment.

Drought Aid Sought For 11 Wisconsin Counties
Gov. John W. Reynolds called for emergency federal disaster aid for 11 drought stricken southern Wisconsin counties. He asked Friday by telegram that conservation reserve lands and acres diverted under feed grain and wheat programs be released for emergency pasture and hay. Four Injured in Three La Crosse Auto Accidents
Four persons were injured in three La Crosse traffic crashes Friday. Astrid Slungaard, six, was cut on the leg after walking into a truck at 22nd and La Crosse Streets. Kenneth Slaback, 53, reported the girl entered his vehicle. Michael Cavin, 19, was hospitalized for possible internal injuries after his car hit a parked car on Losey Boulevard. the parked car belonged to Jerry Lunde. Two 18-year-old city girls, Sharon Thrower and Jenny Steindorf, were treated for injuries after a rollover on County Highway F. the car belonged to Roger Wakefield, who said it had been taken from the Alpine Inn. The girls were later booked for investigation of car theft.

Mental patient sought in wife slaying in Fergus Falls
