Firemen Hurt When Fire Trucks Collide
Three La Crosse firemen were injured Tuesday morning when two fire engines collided at 16th and Market while responding to a basement smoke alarm at 421 S. 17th St. Harold Eeg and LeRoy Butterfield, both injured, were taken to St. Francis Hospital. Alphonse Fuchsteiner and engine driver William Genz also sustained injuries. Eeg suffers two fractured ribs, Butterfield multiple bruises and a hurt foot, Fuchsteiner a bruised shoulder and chest injuries.
