Judge Brindley postponed the trials of William J. Weigel H Sword J Blajeska and Emil Wermuth after District Attorney D S Law fell ill. The men faced charges of selling liquor to a minor linked to 13 year old Frank Weigent confession. Brindley said no saloonkeeper has ever been jur y convicted in La Crosse county in six years. Chief John Webber noted no arrests in six years on these charges due to likely acquittals. The case may proceed next week and may reflect tougher licensing under state law.

Formal demand was made by the state today to set aside the divorce decree granted to Mrs Grace B B Guggenheim Wahl from William Guggenheim New York millionaire on grounds of fraud and collusion. Motion before Judge Oscar Heard in the circuit court marks first state involvement in the case.

The Wisconsin Senate exonerated Insurance Commissioner Herman L. Ekern from acting as campaign manager for L. L. Johnson and ruled Governor McGovern's removal action unjust. It rejected confirming L. A. Anderson to Ekern’s post and adopted a 14 finding report condemning the governor’s pretext.
In Madison Wisconsin the Wisconsin Senate voted 22 to 6 to reject L A Anderson Gov McGovern’s pick to succeed Ekern as insurance commissioner. McGovern immediately reappointed Anderson, a move critics call out of order and likely ineffective under state law.
