LSC Plans Not Affected By Deficit
La Crosse State College development plans for 1956 proceed despite a state building fund deficit, says Regent Eugene Murphy. MADISON The Board of State College Regents has applied for a 5.5 million federal loan to build 200 bed residence halls at ten colleges in the system. The plan covers Superior Whitewater Oshkosh La Crosse Platteville Stevens Point Menomonie Eau Claire and River Falls with each project costing about 600 thousand dollars. Milwaukee will not host a new building as the college merges with the University of Wisconsin Extension center. Funds would be borrowed from the Federal Housing and Home Finance Agency and repaid over 40 years at 2 percent interest, to be funded by student fees.
