Willem Van Roosenbeek twenty five from Batavia Java and his eighteen year old companion Enrico Kerkhoff are held by U S immigration authorities after a 14000 mile trip from the Dutch East Indies. They jumped ship at San Pedro and spent funds on bus trips toward Milwaukee where Van Roosenbeek hopes to visit an aunt. A hearing is planned Monday to start deportation proceedings.

The Brown County bar association passed a resolution urging Congress to create a northern federal court district with headquarters in Green Bay. Armed Forces Gain 15 258 Men in November
Washington reports the armed forces added 15 258 personnel in November raising total strength to 1 582 411. The Army increased by 12 70 to 567 769 including 7 610 draftees while Navy rose 3 483 to 429 917 and Marines gained 10 to 1 total. Air Force strength fell nearly 1 000 to 409 300 as expirations cut entries and new enlistments numbered 17 477.

Three 12 year old Native American boys in Lac Du Flambeau Wis took $40 that did not belong to them and bought a sled lights and other items then shared ice cream and a $5 bill with friends. Deputy Sheriff Bill Chapman tracked them to a wooded area near Flambeau school after the theft was reported by staff at least $220 in missing funds are noted across two teachers.

Form New Cub Pack at Our Savior's Lutheran Church
An organizational meeting for a new Cub pack was held Wednesday evening December 15 at Our Savior's Lutheran church. The Brotherhood sponsors the pack with a strong turnout and several boys submitted applications. Four men joined the pack committee Phillip Bjorge as chairman Melan Tos trud Claus Skundberg and M B Skundberg. Robert Moen was chosen Cubmaster and Mrs Viola Hill became the first den mother. Interested nine and ten year olds should contact Moen to submit applications before the next meeting on January 19.
