Boxcar Pool Plan For U S Railroads
The Association of American Railroads proposed a nationwide pool of 50 foot boxcars owned by the rail industry. An initial order of 10,000 cars at about 180 million dollars would be financed by high credit railroads and available to all lines. The move comes as Senate rail bills seek up to 2 billion in federal loan guarantees and a national agency to oversee freight cars.
