Union Charges Coercion WWTI Election Complaint Filed
The Wisconsin Federation of Teachers filed a labor charge with the Wisconsin Employment Relations Commission on December 10 on behalf of the WWTI Faculty Federation. The filing seeks a new election, alleging unfair labor practices by Western Wisconsin Technical Institute and its director Charles Richardson. The December 6 vote rejected the unionization bid 89-38, with other groups receiving 12 and 10 votes. The complaints cite misrepresentations and coercive actions during the election, while naming no specific incidents.
