RUTH GLENDENNING 89 DIES AT CLEVELAND TOWN FARM
Mrs Ruth Glendenning 89 of the Town of Cleveland died at her farm home after a broken leg treatment. She and her late husband farmed northeast of Hixton. Survivors include daughters Hazel and Ora and son Fred of Greenwood. Services Sunday at 1 pm at Jensen Funeral Home Hixton with Rev Buron Artz officiating. Burial in Houghtenberg Cemetery north of Alma Center.

He outlined growth aims and said milk prices will be part of the next holding action while noting the NFC holds a weapon in the action and will push for farm price gains based on cost of production. Dewey Brooks 12 of Farmers Valley near Sparta won a 498 pound Angus steer and quipped it’s for steaks.

Fifteen Hunters Pay For Violations In Wisconsin

Abandonment of Dam Authorized Near West Salem
Madison The Public Service Commission granted Northern States Power Co of Eau Claire permission to abandon the Steensen Dam on the La Crosse River near West Salem. NSP's La Crosse manager Arthur L. Christensen said the dam has not operated for years and now barely resembles rapids. Built in 1905 the dam once powered a feed mill near the La Crosse Inter-State Fairgrounds and generated about 100 kilowatts.
No Permits Issued For Forest Trees
Elmer Sprick manager of the Black River State Forest states that no permits have been or will be issued to cut Christmas trees in the State Forest. He notes calls for permits but says trees are sold only to accredited wholesalers from designated areas in the forest and in lots of at least 100 trees.
