FBI in Washington distributes serial numbers of the $240,000 ransom for Frank Sinatra Jr. as investigators raid a Canoga Park home and source details emerge from Oakland. Blizzard Ends But Death Toll Rises From Deep Snow

Snow and extreme cold battered the Northern Plains and Midwest. temperatures plunged to 17 below in Lewistown Montana. Butte received nearly a foot of snow. J F Gleason Dies La Crosse County Supervisor at 71

J Francis Gleason 71 longtime La Crosse County supervisor from the 19th Ward died suddenly at his home. He served on the County Board since 1955 and had worked 27 years for the city street department before retirement. He collapsed on his porch at 728 Sumner Street and was pronounced dead at St. Francis Hospital. He served on finance veterans welfare and joint building committees.

Amber light ordered for overhead crossing protection
