Fight in midair with pilot snake at Mercer County quarries

Boy 7 suffocates in North Side morning fire
A fire at 1115 Livingston Street early today trapped seven year old Joseph Karsten in his room. Smoke and heat drove him to the wall as his mother urged him to break the upstairs window. Firemen arrived quickly but he was dead before aid. The family is destitute and pending burial funds.
