Retired Bangor Doctor Dead At 72
Dr. Karl P. Ruppenthal 72 of Bangor died by suicide Sunday morning Aug 19 at his home. Coroner Curtis Baltz released the finding. authorities gave no method. He retired in 1970 after 44 years in Bangor practice. He held multiple hospital and medical society posts and served as Bangor health officer and village councilman. He is survived by his wife Mary two sons a daughter eight grandchildren and several siblings. Services will be Wednesday at 2 pm at First Presbyterian Church Bangor with burial at Burns Cemetery.
