Services Monday at Our Savior's Church.

Mrs. Eva Wakeen aged 94 or 96 celebrated her birthday with a ride on the La Crosse Queen and briefly helmed the boat. Roy Franz allowed her to take the captain’s chair as residents from St. Joseph Nursing Home and sisters from Villa St. Joseph joined the trip.

Tragedy on Losey Boulevard Claims 10-Year-Old Rider
Julie Marie Burns, 10, died Friday after a logging truck struck her bicycle group on Losey Boulevard near Pine Street. The incident involved two bicycles including a tandem and a single, with Shannon Burns 12 and Janet Burns 9 riding, while William J. Watson 40 of Rockland drove the truck. Julie, born June 28, 1963, was killed when she was thrown under the truck as the tandem bicycle wavering cause the group to lose control. She was La Crosse County's 11th traffic fatality of 1973.
