Derailed Missouri Pacific Train Triggers Eureka Evacuations
More than 400 Eureka residents were evacuated Sunday night after 20 cars of a Missouri Pacific freight train derailed in the town. A leaking liquefied gas tank car prompted authorities to clear the area until the leak was stopped. The 111-car train derailed when a grease box overheated melting and causing wheels to jump the tracks near the business district just southwest of St. Louis.
