Ernest Pound, manager of Berry Candy factory, earning $5000 yearly, was arrested in Chicago on April 27 for stealing gum and candy totaling $35. The three month thefts occurred while Pound, also half owner of Purity cafe, was not suspected by factory officials. He left the plant with a basket and suitcase filled with gum and candies. he threatened self harm.
