Hog Prices Turn Downward In Week

Hog prices fell last week after highs as prices in live hog markets eased. Cattle sales were mostly steady though farmers reduced market flow. Broilers lost ground with declines across regions from 0.5 to 2 cents per pound. Fresh pork prices dropped 3 to 7 dollars per hundred pounds in eastern wholesale markets. Closing hog price ranges included Chicago and Atlanta in the low 20s with slight regional variations.
