Annual Red Cross Meeting Set for Thursday Night

Kings Mountain Chapter of the American Red Cross will hold its annual meeting Thursday at 8 PM in the City Hall courtroom. Rev. Hollywood writer Robert Hardy Andrews and stars Rod Cameron Chill Wills and Alice Kelly toured Gastonia and Kings Mountain promoter sites. Andrews said a film about the Battle of Kings Mountain is possible, noting markers along the highway and the turning point status of the revolt. City Facilities Greatly Expanded Since Parsons Joined Force In '19

Kings Mountain celebrates L. C Parsons retirement after 33 years as utilities head. He joined March 1, 1919, when only 250 power customers existed and streets were few. Now in-city streets exceed 33 miles with paved sections, serving over 2,000 residents. Parsons, a native of Elierbe, NC, will retire January 1, with a month of vacation granted prior to end of active service.

The county hospital board of trustees will meet at Kings Mountain hospital Friday at 10 30 AM to receive bids for the construction of a 13 bed nurses home. Invitations cover general electrical plumbing and heating work.

Blackburn Dies Of Heart Attack
