Ruth Elected, daughter of H L Ruth, E King Street, Kings Mountain, was chosen vice-president of the rising sophomore class at Davidson College. She will serve for the 1950-51 academic year according to the college elections. Parking meter receipts last week totaled 154.86 dollars per a report by City Clerk A Crouse. Loom-Tex Corporation of New York plans to operate the former Ducourt Mills plant on a three shift basis and may begin taking job applications at the plant office on Monday. Lester Marin, Loom-Tex president, also heads Consolidated Textiles and owns mills in Shelby Lynchburg and Merrisville. Opening work has begun as shipments arrive. the company acquired the mill for 197,300 after bankruptcy bid.

Two Kings Mountain Men Graduate From Seminary
Two Kings Mountain men William Frank Medlin and Hoyle Lee Whitesides graduated Wednesday from Lutheran Theological Seminary in Columbia with Bachelor of Divinity degrees. Both are graduates of Kings Mountain High School and Lenoir Rhyne College and members of St Matthew's Lutheran Church. Medlin will serve in Blountville Virginia and Whitesides at Bethlehem Lutheran Church near Hickory.
