Juniors Fall Short as Shelby Edges Kings Mountain 6-5
Kings Mountain Juniors trailed Shelby 5 1 in an area 4 game at City Stadium Monday night. Don Cobb led off with a single and scored on Horace Kiser’s hit before an ankle injury sent Kiser out. Shelby’s four runs came in the second after two hits and three walks. Jim Cobb hit a key triple in the sixth for KM’s second run, and Coy Bridges scored later on a walk and trip. The ninth inning rally fizzled as Carl Moss struck out two and walked one to end the game.
