Veterans GI Bill training rights under postwar enlistments
The VA ruling outlines that those discharged after July 25, 1947, and those who enlisted or reenlisted under the Armed Forces Voluntary Recruitment Act retain training rights. Veterans already in GI Bill training on the date keep their course. If a veteran finishes or discontinues a program after 1951, they may not start another. Enlistees under the 1945 46 Act have four years from end of enlistment to reenlist, totaling nine years to complete training.
